Masonic Village at Elizabethtown is hiring a Staff Dietitian. This is a Full Time position working Monday - Friday from 7am - 3pm including every 3rd Saturday.

What You'll Do:

As a Staff Dietitian, you will carry out our Mission of Love by assisting with dining services operations and customer service to residents, public and guests. Our Staff Dietitian is responsible for the following:

  • Demonstrates technical knowledge of Medical Nutrition Therapy and proficiency with Resident Assessment Instrument. Assesses residents, using observation and evaluation of clinical records to obtain and interpret medical information, to determine nutritional status and to develop appropriate plans of care to meet resident needs in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.   • Assesses residents at high nutritional risk (i.e., severe pressure ulcers, weight loss, tube fed, clinically complex) to determine an action plan to meet their increased needs in accordance with facility standards. Provides guidance to staff under direction of Chief Dietitian.
  • Consults with and provides recommendation to medical, nursing and ancillary staff on appropriate nutritional interventions to improve resident nutritional status or prevent deterioration of health. Maintains HIPAA compliance.
  • Provides nutritional counseling and education for residents and/or their families to assist them in understanding medical nutritional therapy and in making desired changes in eating habits. Assists in the development and provision of nutrition education of Food Services staff and medical and nursing staff.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled Interdisciplinary Care Plan Conferences to provide insight for resident's holistic well-being with specific focus on nutritional status.
  • Assists the Chief Dietitian in the implementation and coordination of the Food Services Quality Improvement Program as directed. 7. Demonstrates actions that promote excellent dining experience for residents in their neighborhood and/or with specific needs.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations that pertain to food and nutritional care in a long-term care setting. Demonstrates knowledge of HACCP guidelines that pertain to food and nutritional care in a long-term care setting.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of general and therapeutic nutrition with regard to meal planning and can perform resident care-oriented functions in Food Services computer system.

What You Definitely Have:

  • Registered Dietitian status with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist with the state of
    Pennsylvania.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient ability to use computer for data entry and word processing-type functions.
